Pricing FAQ

A local wiki and a self-hosted static site are free. A hosted wiki costs $8 per month for each person who edits it, and is free while NimWiki is in beta.

What does NimWiki cost?

Price
Local wikiFree
Static site you host yourselfFree
Teams: hosted wiki$8 per user per month, unlimited wikis. Free while in beta

What is free?

Everything you do with a local wiki: the plugin for Claude Code and Codex, the nim command line, the browser view, every page type and component, typed pages, decisions and open questions, and as many local wikis as you like. A local wiki needs no account. Static sites you export and host yourself are free too.

What do I pay for?

Each person who signs in to a wiki we host, at $8 a month once the beta ends. Wikis and pages are not counted.

What does free while in beta mean?

Hosted wikis cost nothing while NimWiki is in beta. We will tell every team before billing starts, and nothing you build is lost or locked when it does. See Promote to a team.

Does my agent count as a user?

No. Your agent works through your sign-in and is not a separate seat.

Is a static site I host myself free?

Yes. Exporting a static site with nim wiki export --static runs on your machine and needs no account, and NimWiki charges nothing for it. You host the files yourself, behind your own password if you want one, so only your hosting provider’s pricing applies. See Publish as a static site.

Do I need an AI subscription?

NimWiki works through the agent you already run, such as Claude Code or Codex, under that agent’s own plan or API key. NimWiki does not include AI usage and does not meter tokens, views or edits.

Do I need an account?

Not for a local wiki or a static site. You sign in only when you move a wiki to a team or accept an invite.

What happens to my local files when I share a wiki?

They stay where they are. Moving a wiki to a team copies its pages, and the local files are kept and marked as moved.

Where is my data?

A local wiki is files in your project on your machine, and the browser view runs on your machine only. A hosted wiki is hosted so your team can reach it. NimWiki sends your pages nowhere until you move a wiki to a team or publish a static site. The agent you work with handles what it reads under its own provider’s terms, as it does for the rest of your work.
