# Invite people

Invite people to a team wiki by email or with an invite link, choose what they can do, and set up their agents to use the same pages.

Once your wiki is on a team (see [Promote to a team](/docs/sharing/promote-to-team/)), invite the people who should work on it. Invited people read, edit and comment in their browser with nothing to install.

Only team admins can invite people. If you are not an admin, ask one.

## Invite by email

Ask your agent:

> Invite dana@example.com and lee@example.com to the wiki.

The agent repeats the exact list back and asks you to confirm before it invites anyone. It takes email addresses only from what you type in the conversation, never from pages or files. Each person joins the team as a member, unless you ask for admin. The agent reports the status of each invite.

Each person gets an email, signs in on the web, and lands in the wiki.

## Invite with a link

Ask your agent:

> Create an invite link for the wiki.

You get a URL and the time it expires. Anyone with the link can join the team until then, so share it only where you mean to. Team admins can revoke a link under **Members** in the team's web console.

## Roles

| Role | Values | Meaning |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Team role | `member`, `admin` | Admins can invite people, connect projects and manage the team. |

Say what you want in the request: "make dana an admin".

## From a terminal

Team admins can invite with `nim` after `nim login`. Find the team and project ids with `nim wiki status`.

```sh
nim wiki invite --org <orgId> dana@example.com lee@example.com --project <projectId> --project-role editor
nim wiki invite-link --org <orgId> --project <projectId> --max-uses 10 --expires-in 604800
```

| Flag | Effect |
| --- | --- |
| `--role member\|admin` | The team role |
| `--project-role editor\|viewer` | Access to the wiki |
| `--expires-in SECONDS` | How long an invite link works |
| `--max-uses N` | How many people can join with one link |

## If you were invited

The invite email or link signs you in and opens the team's wiki in your browser. You can read, edit and comment there with nothing installed.

To use the wiki from your agent too, install the wiki plugin and the team add-on, then sign in with the same email.

**Claude Code:**

```
/plugin marketplace add nimbalyst/nimbalyst-wiki
/plugin install nimbalyst-wiki@nimbalyst-wiki
/plugin install nimbalyst-wiki-team@nimbalyst-wiki
```

Restart Claude Code, run `/mcp`, choose the team server and pick **Authenticate**. If the project offers you the plugins when you open it, accept them instead.

**Codex:**

```sh
codex plugin marketplace add nimbalyst/nimbalyst-wiki
codex plugin add nimbalyst-wiki@nimbalyst-wiki
codex plugin add nimbalyst-wiki-team@nimbalyst-wiki
codex mcp login nimbalyst-team
```

If the project has a committed connection file, your agent uses that team wiki right away. Otherwise it finds the wiki through the project's git remote.
